Barcelona have put a 'not for sale' sign on David Villa after reports Paris Saint-German are poised with a substantial bid.
Mundo Deportivo quotes a senior Barca director as stating this week that the 30-year-old Spanish international 'is not for sale' with rumours circulating of an offer from the French club of at least €30m.
Villa has been out of action since suffering a broken leg in the World Club Cup in Japan last December and the Catalans are hopeful he will commence pre-season training alongside the rest of the squad as he enters the final stages of his recovery.
New boss Tito Vilanova has already declared Villa to be an integral part of his line-up for next term.
“Up front we will not be signing anybody else because last year we had injuries and now we have David Villa, Pedro, Isaac Cuenca, Cristian Tello and Lionel Messi,” he said.
