Madrid reignite De Gea interest?

Real Madrid are said to have renewed their interest in Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea and are lining up a bid, say reports.

No major Spanish media outlet has reported interest from Los Blancos in the Spain international all summer, with sources close to the club stating that since the deadline day fax machine debacle two seasons ago, there was no longer an expectation of a deal.

However, according to English newspaper The Sun, chiefs at the Bernabeu are preparing a €50m offer for the 26-year-old, who has been number one at United since joining from Atletico six years ago.

Costa Rica international Keylor Navas has established himself as the first choice goalkeeper at the European champions but despite making an error for Romelu Lukaku’s goal in the European Super Cup, put in a stellar performance over two legs against Barcelona in the Spanish Supercopa.

The report concludes that Zinedine Zidane has decided he does not require any new outfield player with his focus on strengthening his goalkeeping department.
