Southampton new Coach Mauricio Pellegrino wants to raid former club Alaves for Moroccan central defender Zouhair Feddal, according to reports in Spain.
Marca state the Argentine boss ‘wants to take Feddal’ to English football with the Saints simply needing to activate the defender’s €3m release clause to finalise a deal.
The 28-year-old was one of Pellegrino’s first signings at the Basque club when he signed a three-year deal from Levante.
The former Parma and Palermo defender made 33 appearances across all competitions in his debut season, helping the club to a top half league finish and the Copa Del Rey final.
Capped 13 times by Morocco, Feddal is also known to be capable of playing left-back and as a holding midfielder.
