Napoli target Inaki Williams

Italian giants Napoli are interested in signing Athletic Club Bilbao forward Inaki Williams this summer, according to reports.

Corriere Dello Sport suggest Cristiano Guintoli, the sporting director at the Naples club, has made La Liga his main transfer market and the 22-year-old is top of his list for transfers.

The versatile attacking player has a €50m release clause with the Basque club and previously has been linked to a host of European clubs including Juventus, Borussia Dortmund and Liverpool.

This season the Ghanian-born Williams has netted four goals and provided six assists in 30 appearances for Los Leones.

However, Williams has previously stated he is perfectly happy at his current club and AS stated in March that he may well sign a new deal to increase his release clause further.

"I have always said, and I maintain, that I am where I want to be and that I am very happy in Bilbao," Williams was quoted as saying by Marca in January.

"I do not want a change of pace, my family is very comfortable here, my teammates are happy with me and I am very happy to be with them. My first choice will always be Athletic.

"I am where I want to be and also very happy. Having a contract [until 2021] gives stability but I am not satisfied with what I have achieved. I always aspire to have more. I want more renewals [with Athletic] to come in the future."
