Marcelo says La Liga “is the best and there are only great games in it” ahead of Real Madrid’s rematch against Sevilla on Sunday.
Madrid came back from 3-1 down on Thursday to draw 3-3 with Sevilla – a result that took Los Blancos into the Copa del Rey quarter-finals, ensured they set a news Spanish record of 40 games unbeaten and ramped up the excitement of Sunday’s League clash between the two sides.
“Sevilla are a great team and we knew the game would go how it did because the result of the first leg means nothing,” the left-back said after the game.
“Sevilla pushed us a lot, but our three goals in the first leg proved crucial.
“We didn’t hesitate at any moment, we needed to be patient.
“Forty games without defeat? We’re not thinking about the run, we’re going game by game, the team have fought until the end and we’ll continue like this.
“First against second on Sunday? The Spanish League is the best and there are only great games [in it].”
