Newcastle sign young Recre ace

English Championship club Newcastle United have agreed to sign teenage striker Juan Jesus Nunez Cumbrera 'Juanito' from Recreativo Huelva.

The 17-year-old has a growing reputation in the regional youth leagues in Andalucia having progressed through Recre's youth system and had been earmarked to be called up to El Decano's first-team squad.

He is the latest in a string of unwanted departures from Spain's oldest club, who according to AS will not receive any money from the move.

David Alfonso left the southern-based Spanish club in the summer to join FC Barcelona.

Recreativo are currently playing in Segunda B Group IV – the third tier of Spanish football regionalised into sides from across Spain's southern regions – and currently lie 17th in the table and in danger of relegation, while the club has battled serious financial problems in recent seasons.
