Barcelona full-back Aleix Vidal has contacted former club Sevilla over a possible return to the club, according to reports in Spain.
Radio Marca Sevilla claim the 27-year-old personally phoned Monchi – Sevilla's Sporting Director – to let him know of his desire to leave the Catalans in the January transfer window and expressing his wish to return to the Europa League winners.
Vidal left Sevilla for the Blaugrana in the summer of 2015 for €22m, but despite signing a 5-year deal at Camp Nou he has made only 16 appearances and has failed to work himself into Luis Enrique's plans.
Diario Sport have since reported that the former Almeria player has denied the report, but it is believed that Barca would be willing to let him depart this January on either a loan or permanent deal.
