Cristiano Ronaldo believes his new long-term deal at Real Madrid caps a perfect year for him, after Champions League and European Championship success.
The 31-year-old signed a new deal with Los Blancos until 2021, to once again make him the highest paid footballer in the world and comes months after lifting trophies with both club and country.
"Winning the Champions League with Real Madrid, the European Championships with Portugal and renewing five years more here: this is a dream year for me,” explained Ronaldo, who referred to the deal as a ‘special day’.
"To live in today's society, with the things that happen in world, I cannot say I have bad moments, although less good sometimes.
"Portugal has a special place in my heart. I grew up there and my house is there. I wanted to win with Portugal since I was 18."
