Neymar set for new Barca deal

Neymar will commit his future to Barcelona by signing a new deal on Friday which will extend his stay at the club until June 2021.

The Catalans have announced that the Brazilian will put pen to paper at the end of a week following months of speculation over his future with links to Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain – who the attacker admitted to having transfer discussions with over the summer months.

The 24-year-old joined the Blaugrana in 2013 from Brazilian side Santos, and has netted 90 goals in 149 appearances since.

"The act to officialise Neymar's contract renewal will take place on Oct. 21 at the club's offices at 3pm,” read a club statement.

"As the club have previously announced, Neymar's new contract with FC Barcelona will end on Jun. 30, 2021."

Neymar's new buyout clause has been fixed at €200m for the first year of the deal, €222m for the second and will then increase to €250m for the remaining three years.

The Brazilian follows in the footsteps of Sergio Busquets and Javier Mascherano in penning new deals with the club, with Luis Suarez, Marc-Andre Ter Stegen, Ivan Rakitic, Lionel Messi and Andres Iniesta next in the queue for new deals.
