Ousmane Dembele has reportedly told Barcelona that he will play for the club one day despite favouring a move to Borussia Dortmund this summer.
The 19-year-old striker moved to the German club this summer from Ligue 1 side Rennes for a fee of 8 million euros despite making only 26 senior appearances for the French side.
Dembele also attracted interest from Barcelona but he rejected a chance to join them as he believed he would not get sufficient playing time at the moment due to Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Neymar, according to a report in Mundo Deportivo.
The report clarifies that even though Dembele – who won last season's Ligue 1 Young Player of the Year award – turned down a move to the Catalans, he indicated to them that 'he would play for Barcelona one day'.
Dembele has since made his senior debut for the French national team and has scored once in his ten appearances for Borussia Dortmund.
