Villarreal are reportedly on the verge of signing former Milan striker Alexandre Pato and Porto goalkeeper Andres Fernandez.
According to AS, Villarreal have already agreed personal terms with Pato and just need to close the deal with Corinthians.
However, the Brazilian club are in a weak bargaining position, given the attacker's contract expires in December, thus a fee below €5m has been mooted.
Pato's most recent attempt at a European comeback failed as he made just two appearances for Chelsea in the second half of last season, while he has also been linked with Lazio.
The Yellow Submarine are "optimistic" about landing the 26-year-old as early as next week, but Fernandez is likely to be confirmed first, the custodian to arrive as a replacement for Alphonse Areola.
AS notes "everything has been agreed" over a season-long loan for the ex-Osasuna man, who played in all-but-one of Granada's La Liga matches in a similar arrangement last term.
