Sao Paulo confirm Ganso exit

Sao Paulo have confirmed Sevilla target Paulo Henrique Ganso will be allowed to leave the club in the near future.

It’s been reported that Los Rojiblancos’ third offer for the midfielder, said to be around €9.5m, has found favour with Sao Paulo and investment firm DIS, who hold part of his contract, and Carlos Augusto de Barros e Silva, the Sao Paulo President, acknowledged Ganso’s imminent exit.

“Ganso is out of Sao Paulo’s plans for the rest of the season. He’s told me he’s going to the team he wants to go to. I have to admit. He always behaved well and contributed wonderful football that he always showed. He leaves a legacy,” Estadio Deportivo quotes Barros e Silva as saying.

“I can say that few people admire Ganso as much as I do. He knows my appreciation for him. But I have to be consistent. There are times when cycles are completed, when a new perspective emerges.”

The report adds that Sao Paulo and DIS have been discussing how to split the fee to be paid by Sevilla, and DIS are also likely to get a portion of any future sale of the Brazil international.
