Barca ‘expect more from Arda’

Barcelona are hoping Arda Turan offers more in this coming season as he is falling down the pecking order at Camp Nou.

Sport reports that the return from long-term injury of Rafinha and the signing of Denis Suarez mean Luis Enrique no longer counts on Arda as much as he otherwise would and though the Coach kept quiet last season, he was among those disappointed with the Turkey international.

Arda has to win back the favour of Enrique over pre-season, Sport add, or risk a season spent on the sidelines after struggling throughout 2015-16.

It’s acknowledged that the six months he spent unable to play for Barca following his move from Atletico Madrid were a problem as he couldn’t get match fit or used to the club’s style of play, but his complaints that he was played out of position in the second half of the campaign, as an excuse for poor performances, didn’t sit well.

There was also a question of Arda’s attitude, Sport claims, after among his first words upon signing for Barca were that he was ‘tired’ of running so much for Diego Simeone’s Atleti.
