Soria: Sevilla more than a team

David Soria said Sevilla isn’t a team but a ‘great team’ after a comeback Europa League Final win over Liverpool.

The goalkeeper was beaten in the first half by Daniel Sturridge but made a number of saves to keep his side in the game before Kevin Gameiro and a Coke brace ensured a third straight trophy for Los Rojiblancos.

“This isn’t a team, it’s a great team. We’ve overcome injuries and we’ve succeeded. We’ve recovered, we did it for us, our families, for the fans. Now we enjoy it and prepare for the [Copa del Rey Final] on Sunday,” Soria said, AS reports.

“This year has been a dream. I have to live it, keep working, and it won’t stop. I’m speechless [about the fans]. They had a corner of the stadium and I heard them more than the rest.”

Soria also revealed what Unai Emery told the players at half time, Sevilla having been second best in the opening 45 minutes.

“He told us we were good, to keep going. We went after them with intensity,” Soria explained.
