Cholo: Goals will come

Diego Simeone was content with Atletico Madrid’s draw with PSV Eindhoven in the first leg of their Champions League encounter and says ‘goals will come.’

The game in the Netherlands ended goalless and so will be decided at Vicente Calderon in March, Cholo satisfied despite his side again struggling to find the back of the net – though they did have a Diego Godin goal ruled out for a foul.

“We handled the game well. I leave with a good feeling,” he said post-match, AS reports.

“They’ve escaped a goal, but now we play at home and we’ve played a very important game. Nobody can be sure we’ll go through with 0-0.

“The way we played at our rival’s home and the way we pressed generated enthusiasm for me. I know the goal will come. I’m No 1 for patience.

“PSV are fast on counter-attacks and created problems after our set-pieces, but Atletico were in control.”
