Emery confirms Krychowiak blow

Unai Emery has confirmed that Grzegorz Krychowiak picked up an injury in training ahead of Sevilla’s early kick-off against Levante on Sunday.

A statement on Sevilla’s official website has since revealed a ligament strain in Krychowiak’s right knee, which will rule him out of the club’s “upcoming games”, but Emery was quick to move on from the setback as he welcomed Levante to Sanchez Pizjuan.

“We hold ourselves responsible for the situation we find ourselves in,” the Coach said at a Press conference.

“La Liga is the main competition, which marks the regularity and that sentencing.

“After Thursday’s game, [Sunday] morning’s very important. Levante are a tough team.

“The table doesn’t reflect what I think of them. We’ve not beaten them at home in the last four seasons.

“We need Sanchez Pizjuan to be the 12th man.

“[On Grzegorz Krychowiak’s injury], it was in training yesterday.

“Any injury isn’t welcome. Now he must concentrate on his recovery and we must use the resources we have.

“[On Diogo Figueiras returning from Genoa], we are in three competitions and need many players.

“Diogo is here to help us. We know what he can give us.

“[On the Anti-Violence commission’s recommendation that Sevilla fans should be fined], I have an opinion, but I also have a responsibility, since I’m employed by Sevilla.

“In my three years [at the club], I’ve seen the utmost respect [from our fans].

“Their behaviour is no different than anywhere else. I think the Sevilla fans are exceptional.

“The club are also working to ensure there’s no violence. We’re all on the same page.

“We know everyone. I see no extreme expressions [from the fans] to say they’re doing something else.

“[On being drawn against Celta Vigo in the Copa del Rey semi-finals], anything to keep our dreams alive is positive.

“We have to enjoy it with our fans. We’re experiencing something beautiful, but right now there’s nothing beyond the game against Levante.”
