Neville: Simply not good enough

Gary Neville conceded Valencia "simply weren't good enough" in Wednesday's 2-0 Champions League defeat to Lyon.

Los Che were eliminated from the group stage in the Englishman's first game at the helm after they went down to goals from Maxwel Cornel and Alexandre Lacazette.

"They were better than us and there’s no excuse," he said after the game, according to UEFA's official website.

"We can’t be happy with how we played and we can’t blame anyone. We have a fight in front of us, an objective.

"We have some games left before the Christmas break and I hope we can get some injured players back.

"Today we simply weren’t good enough."
