Atletico Madrid striker Jackson Martinez faces a spell on the sidelines after spraining his ankle in Colombia’s 1-1 draw with Chile on Thursday.
The forward was hauled off with only five minutes left in the 2018 World Cup qualifier, which also saw James Rodriguez score Los Cafeteros’ equaliser.
It has since emerged via Colombia’s medical team that the 29-year-old sprained the MCL in his left knee.
Jackson will now undergo an MRI scan in Barranquilla, where the Colombian team landed after their trip to Santiago, to fully determine the extent of his injury.
