Neymar believes the run of form he has produced lately is the best of his career, but says ‘of course Barcelona miss Lionel Messi.’
The Brazil captain scored two of Barca’s three goals against BATE Borisov, Luis Suarez getting the other, and spoke to reporters following the final whistle.
“I’m very happy for the game, we did what we wanted which was to win and we played the game we needed,” he said, AS reports.
“We scored the goals we needed to score. Congratulations to the team.
“Half the third goal goes to Suarez. He’s in great form and he’s a star.
“We have to be calm, we’re almost half-way through the season and we’ve done a good job, we’ve won games and scored goals.”
It was put to Neymar that he has come to the fore in the injury-enforced absence of Messi, but he contends the team would be better for the Argentine’s presence.
“Of course we miss Messi, he’s the best in the world. But I am in great form, the best of my life, and I hope to continue like this,” he added.
