Sandoval furious with late goal

Jose Ramon Sandoval launched a scathing attack on his Granada players after they dropped two points at the death against Espanyol on Sunday.

Jean Sylvain Babin looked to have earned the Andalucians victory until Felipe Caicedo equalised in the fourth minute of injury time, leaving the Coach “weeping with rage” as he compared his side to “children on the street”.

“I wept with rage because this draw tastes a like defeat,” he said after the game.

“The efforts of an entire city and squad can't be ruined by small details.

“It's been like this for several weeks now. It's not a question of tactics or technique. I'm working for my life.

“Children on the street know how to play better than us. When we make a change to control the game is when we create more danger for ourselves.

“We had three or four counterattacks, but their goalkeeper was the best player on the pitch.

“Caicedo barely featured but has great quality and showed it [when he scored]. When you've done all the hard work, you can't throw it all away.

"Any Granada fan will think the same as me. It's better [to say it how it is] than be one of those bandwagon jumpers who don't say much.”
