Sevilla suffer City heartbreak

Manchester City scored a last-minute winner as Sevilla’s Champions League hopes were dashed in a 2-1 defeat at the Etihad Stadium on Wednesday.

The Andalucians overcame a tough start to take the lead on 30 minutes, when Yevhen Konoplyanka turned in Vitolo’s low cross.

However, their advantage lasted only six minutes as Yaya Toure showed fantastic strength to bypass his marker at the byline and drill in a cross for Wilfried Bony to ultimately finish off, albeit aided by a deflection from Adil Rami.

Sevilla were then left kicking themselves after they missed a host of chances, most notably Kevin Gameiro’s free header in the box. and subsequently suffered the ignominy of Kevin de Bruyne driving home the winner in the first minute of injury time to drop out of Group D’s top two.
