‘Entire Barca squad deserve BdO’

Luis Enrique has claimed that his entire Barcelona squad “deserve to be nominated” for the 2015 FIFA Ballon d'Or ahead of Saturday's trip to Sevilla.

As many as seven Barca players are thought to have been included in the initial 59-man list for the individual award, but the Coach believes all of his players' performances over the past year have warranted global recognition.

“[Claudio] Bravo is a possibility. He's returned and in his normal dynamics,” he said at a Press conference.

“I decide the team on technicalities, but there's nothing stopping him from participating.

“[On the Press no longer being allowed to travel with the team], I've always wanted to professionalise team travel to the fullest. I second the decision taken by the club.

“[On Gerard Gumbau and Sergi Samper], it's an ugly question. They are two very good players, but under no circumstances will I compare them.

“The system is assessed on what we see in the game and what we think we can improve on.

“I wish we could always play with the same system and have all our players at our disposal.

“Luis Suarez was heavily scrutinised in his first few games [for Barca], but that's normal.

“He's been at a very good level since he joined, even when his numbers could say otherwise. He's been key, not only in a football sense but also a character one.

“[On the Ballon d'Or list], ask FIFA who made the list. Barca's entire squad deserve to be nominated for the Ballon d'Or.

“As for the winner, I don't think there's any doubt as to who it will be.”
