Moyes ‘committed’ to La Real

David Moyes insists he isn’t looking to leave Real Sociedad amid rumours his job is coming under threat.

La Real have started the season poorly, picking up two points from their opening four games, and struggling to find the back of the net, leading to speculation the Scot is on borrowed time.

“I’m very happy. I’m here despite having other opportunities,” AS quotes Moyes as saying at a Press conference prior to Tuesday’s game at Granada.

“I like the city and the players are fantastic. I’m very committed to the team. It’s been a bad start to the League but we have to continue to prepare.

“I’ve been coaching for a long time and I’ve been in this situation many times. You don’t always win and you don’t always get what you deserve.

“We were unlucky [in the defeat to Espanyol] but that happens in football, so I’m preparing the players for victory. That’s all I can do.

“The similarity to Manchester United is that we want to win. But I have to stress we’re at the beginning of the League and we want to improve and the same thing happens with all clubs. You do a good job and sometimes things change when you least expect it.

“I’m not thinking about [the weekend’s Basque derby against Athletic Bilbao]. I’m thinking about the next game and that is Granada.

“I have no doubts about the squad. We have players who are very good, but our performance should be better at times.

“We haven’t played badly in any of the four games. The problem is that in three games we didn’t score and that’s not our style. We haven’t had any luck at times.”
