Krohn-Dehli grateful to Enrique

Michael Krohn-Dehli has recalled his year at Celta Vigo under Luis Enrique as Barcelona and Sevilla meet in the UEFA Super Cup.

Krohn-Dehli quit Balaidos for Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan this summer and, in an interview with AS, credited the Barca Coach for the move.

“I played well under Enrique. He’s a great Coach who is always prepared for everything and for all players,” the Denmark international said.

“I have only good words for him from our year together at Celta. He’s a great Coach and a great person.

“He was the first to put me in midfield and that’s what brought me to Sevilla. Without him I probably wouldn’t be here.

“He’s different from Unai Emery. The way of playing and coaching is different, although they are similar in that they work a lot.

“Enrique works in a different way, but Sevilla and Barcelona are two teams that achieved success in their own way.

“It’s also true that Enrique won’t be working as he did at Celta. It’s normal that he’d have adjusted.”

Krohn-Dehli added that he has had no problems settling in at his new club, and is excited at debuting in the showpiece in Georgia.

“It was very easy for me in this squad. It’s a very united group and that shows on the pitch, as we’ve seen in the past two years,” he continued.

“The Super Cup is the best thing that could happen to us. There’s always pressure but the dream of the team is great.

“I imagine lifting a trophy in my first match with Sevilla and that’s not bad, right?”
