Barca & United in Pedro talks?

Barcelona are understood to be in talks with Manchester United over the possible sale of Pedro Rodriguez.

Marca claims the forward is keen to depart Camp Nou this summer, despite the contrasting wishes of President Josep Maria Bartomeu and Coach Luis Enrique, and has already informed the club of his desire to see a move to Old Trafford materialise.

The 27-year-old was forced to play second fiddle to Barca’s ‘MSN’ attacking triumvirate of Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Neymar last season and is not prepared to endure another such campaign.

In addition, the fact that Bartomeu and United are currently in the same city – they play each other on Saturday night – could accelerate the transfer.

Although Pedro signed a contract extension earlier in the summer, Barca agreed to drop his release clause from €150m to €30m.

Despite also being linked with the likes of Paris Saint-Germain and Liverpool, Pedro has reportedly prioritised a switch to Old Trafford, a destination which he feels remains ’a reference point in European football’.

Furthermore, it is believed that Pedro must secure a move away in order to consolidate his place in the Spain squad for Euro 2016.
