Diego Costa has urged his “fantastic” former Atletico Madrid teammate Arda Turan to join him at Chelsea.
The Turkish midfielder has been linked with the Blues ever since confirming that his agent was in talks with several clubs, although Barcelona have been installed as favourites to claim his signature.
“It would be fantastic [if Arda joined Chelsea],” he told Turkish newspaper Bugun.
“Things are easier with Arda on the pitch. He, Filipe [Luis] and I work well together, plus Arda is a great person.
“He invited the entire team to his house several times. I especially liked his kebabs!
“Jose Mourinho completely dedicates himself to his work, but he loves his work.
“Now the team are resting, but I’m sure he’s working on things for us to improve on. Mourinho can make things easy for the players.
“[Diego] Simeone is still a young Coach and always wants to improve. He always helps his players and likes his work. They’re both successful.”
