Real Madrid forward Cristiano Ronaldo has announced the sale of his image rights to Valencia owner Peter Lim.
Image rights were a sticking point during negotiations to extend the Portuguese’s contract with Los Blancos two years ago, until Los Blancos reportedly agreed to hand him a majority stake.
“I am very excited to announce my latest deal with Mint Media, owned by my good friend, businessman Peter Lim from Singapore, to acquire my image rights,” read a statement on the 30-year-old’s official website.
“This is a very strategic move for me and my management team to take the Cristiano Ronaldo brand to the next level, especially in Asia.”
Ronaldo is represented by super-agent Jorge Mendes, who also acts as a personal advisor to Lim.
