Getafe will name Elche’s Fran Escriba as their new Coach once their place in La Liga is confirmed for next season, according to AS.
The 50-year-old has reportedly reached a verbal agreement to take over El Geta, who expect to resolve their debt with Spanish tax office Hacienda next week.
Escriba, who has also been linked with Greek champions Olympiakos, is understood to have been President Angel Torres’ first choice to replace Pablo Franco.
Former midfielder Veljko Paunovic, currently in charge of Serbia’s Under-20 team, is also under consideration for the role.
Elche comfortably escaped relegation from La Liga in 2014-15 but were demoted to Segunda for financial irregularities.
