Carlos Dunga reserved praise for Barcelona duo Neymar and Dani Alves following Brazil’s 2-1 victory over Peru in Copa America on Sunday.
The right-back – a late replacement for the injured Danilo – set up his Blaugrana teammate for an equalising header, before the attacker played in Douglas Costa for an injury-time winner to ensure the country kicked off their campaign with three points.
“Neymar was decisive, but so was Dani Alves with the cross he put in, Douglas Costa with the goal he scored and the whole team in general,” the Coach said after the game.
“It’s normal that a player like Neymar is noticed and comes into this tournament in top form after a demanding end to the season.
“[Dani Alves] is a player with experience, maturity and versatility and we have faith in him.
“It only took him two days to give a performance like the one we all saw, giving an assist and keeping his position in defence well.”
