Bartomeu ‘angry’ with Carletto links

Josep Maria Bartomeu has reacted angrily to rumours that Barcelona could replace Luis Enrique with Carlo Ancelotti this summer.

Reports earlier in the week sensationally claimed La Blaugrana were closely monitoring the Italian’s situation at Real Madrid, with the intention of pouncing for his services if he was dismissed, but the President insists the incumbent Coach is going nowhere.

“Luis Enrique has a contract for another year and I’m convinced that he’s happy to continue his work here,” he told RAC1.

“I want to focus on [winning our remaining] titles and then there’ll be time to talk about the future.

"We’re angry about the Ancelotti links. Some media outlets wanted Neymar to join [Real] Madrid and another stated [Ariedo] Braida recommended a list of Coaches.

“I want to tell the socios that this isn’t true and it seems [certain individuals] want destabilise the club.

“The club need tranquillity because we’re about to play in a Copa [del Rey] and Champions League final.

“It seems that there’s someone out there who wants to destabilise us. There’s no list of [alternative] Coaches.

“Someone has surely conned this reporter [with false information].”
