Paris Saint-Germain boss Laurent Blanc is unhappy at what he feels is the excessive debt at Real Madrid.
The Frenchman has hit out at the Spanish giants and claims UEFA should take into account the levels of debt under their Financial Fair Play (FFP) rules, believing that all aspects of a club’s finances should be considered.
“Clubs with high levels of debt, like Real Madrid, should have their ability to sign players limited,” Blanc was quoted as saying by AS.
Madrid’s most recent accounts showed a gross debt of €602m and Blanc’s demand has been backed up by PSG, who together with Manchester City were the two clubs hit by sanctions regarding FFP, and they are asking for a debt clause to be included in the rules.
Currently FFP only encompasses excessive investment by owners and has come down hard on clubs that consistently record losses, with the overall interest on their debt examined but not the amount of money outstanding.
