New York City striker David Villa maintains Luis Enrique is the right man for the Barcelona job and hopes his former club enjoy a great 2015.
Enrique has come under pressure in certain quarters so far this season, but Spain international Villa insists he is the person to bring further success to the Camp Nou as he knows the club so well.
“Luis Enrique it totally prepared for the job because he knows the club inside out,” Villa told reporters.
“People at Barcelona love him and he has what it takes. He has the right grounding as a Coach and the right players in his squad.
“He gained a lot of experience after he left the club to begin his coaching career and is perfectly capable of getting success, so I hope both he and Barca have a great 2015.”
Villa also commented on Lionel Messi, who he believes to be the greatest player of all time.
“Messi can do what nobody else can and I don’t understand the criteria used to decide who wins the Ballon d’Or.
“If it was up to me I’d give it to Messi every single year,” he declared.
