Moyes ‘enjoying’ life in Spain

Real Sociedad boss David Moyes says he is enjoying life in Spain after his appointment at Anoeta in November.

However, the former Everton and Manchester United chief is finding some of the differences in the way things are done are something of a culture shock.

“The hardest thing is without doubt the language. It’s very different, as is the culture, but I’m enjoying eating later,” he smiled when interviewed by AS.

“My Spanish classes are going well and I’ve had five lessons so far, although I missed the sixth as the Press invited me to dinner, but I really like the language and I’m learning names and words, particularly those associated with football.

“It’s true that we train later in the morning than in England but I’m getting used to that. The main difference I find is that between 2pm and 4pm, when I want a meeting, I can’t get in touch with anyone because I can’t find them.

“But I’m enjoying my time here even though I’ve just arrived. I’ve been given time to get to know the players, the club and the environment.

“But I realise anything we want to change should be done gradually and logically. The only thing that matters is the team and that we improve,” he added.
