Florentino Perez maintains he has no problems with Sergio Ramos over talks about renewing the Real Madrid defender’s contract.
Ramos has been linked with a number of clubs as talks over a new agreement appear to have stalled, at least for the time being, but the Madrid President claims he has never had an issue with the player.
“I’ve never had any issues with Sergio Ramos regarding his contract renewal,” Perez told La Graderia.
“People say that he’s my favourite but I think that’s because he has signed so many shirts for me.”
Perez was speaking in Morocco, where Los Blancos will contest the final of the Club World Cup against San Lorenzo at the weekend, and feels it will be difficult to overcome the Argentine side.
“We’re excited about getting to the final and it would be a great way to round off the year by winning this title.
“These games can seem easy on paper but we are never over-confident. We do, however, have plenty of experience.
“We’ve now won 21 consecutive matches and every opponent will want to be the one that ends that run.
“But we are well motivated and the fans are delighted. The Coach treats the players as if they were family and we are having a great time. I just hope it lasts,” he added.
