Martinez: More intensity under Moyes

Inigo Martinez believes David Moyes has brought more intensity to the club since his appointment as Real Sociedad boss.

The Spanish international spoke to reporters before training at Zubieta on Thursday morning and was asked about the changes the Scot has introduced.

“Every Coach has his own way of training and Moyes is asking us for more intensity and aggression every day,” replied the 23-year-old.

“You notice out on the pitch that he is on top of everything and motivates the players even more.

“He’s new and everybody wants to give their all to gain his confidence and there is an intensity here now that wasn’t evident before.

“He knows what he wants and we must take on board everything he wants to teach us.”

With respect to Saturday’s game at Riazor against Deportivo la Coruna, the central defender is looking forward to the team turning the corner following the disappointing start to the 2014-15 campaign.

“We are looking forward to getting some points again and we’ll be going there to win the game.

“We are going into it after playing well in beating Atletico Madrid and want to do the same against Depor.

“It’s in our own hands. The Coach will have his own ideas but it’s us players that have to win the match, to show how good we are and that we can be near the top of the table.”
