‘Villarreal better for 88 minutes…’

Marcelino was left to rue the final minutes of Villarreal’s game against Sevilla as Los Rojiblancos turned the game on its head.

Lucas Vietto opened the scoring with 11 minutes to play and the Yellow Submarine were still in front two minutes from time.

Denis Suarez equalised before Carlos Bacca scored a 93rd minute penalty to give Sevilla the victory after Gio Dos Santos fouled Benoit Tremoulinas.

“It’s a shame that with 88 minutes played we’ve ended with a defeat,” Marcelino told reporters, according to AS.

“We played a great game but in the end two errors have conceded victory to Sevilla. I thought that we were better for those 88 minutes.

“The game lasts until the referee whistles and Sevilla have scored two lawful goals. Congratulations to them. We thought it was over and we wanted it to be over.

“It’s a cruel result but it’s deserved because they scored two goals. There’s no objection.”
