Enrique to change Barca style

Luis Enrique has revealed that he is prepared to adapt Barcelona’s style of play over the course of the 2014-15 campaign.

The Barca boss was speaking ahead of his side’s Champions League fixture against APOEL on Wednesday, and declared he is looking forward to his team making their debut in this season’s competition.

“It’s a good time for this match to come around. We have to improve some things but we are ready for that,” he told gathered media.

“What we have to do is adapt our style to the players. As the season goes on we will change a lot of things.”

“APOEL can cause us problems because they know how to play. They want the ball so we have to be alert to everything. We must control possession and capitalise on our chances.

“We’ve had a good start and there are things we are very comfortable with. Of course, there will be moments when results don’t go for us and we must be ready for that.

“Defensively, I’m happy with the overall improvement. When we don’t have the ball we have 11 men defending and when we do have it we have a block of attackers.

“Our improvement in defence is shown by the fact our goalkeeper [Claudio Bravo] has not had much to do, but there will be times when he will have to make an impression,” he admitted.
