Perez: No Ronaldo row

Real Madrid President Florentino Perez has dismissed talk of a row with Cristiano Ronaldo over the club’s summer signings.

Ronaldo was reportedly critical of the decision to sell Angel Di Maria and Xabi Alonso, saying in an interview that if he was in charge, he may have made different decisions.

But Perez has insisted Ronaldo is happy with the purchase of Toni Kroos and James Rodriguez, and explained why the club sold Di Maria to Manchester United.

“I know Cristiano well. His loyalty can’t be questioned,” AS reports Perez as saying.

“I’ve heard all of his statements and I have no doubt he didn’t want to question the policy of the club and made no disregard of the new signings.

“I’ve talked a lot with him. We have a great relationship. In fact he gave me a replica of his Ballon d’Or and I can tell you he loves these signings.

“There are no differences with him. Zero.”

Perez was also asked about comments made by Ronaldo that were interpreted as suggesting he could one day go back to Manchester United.

“I’ve said it before, he loves that club. Ask him about it,” came the President’s reply.
