Cristiano Ronaldo has dropped a broad hint that one day he would love to return to play for Manchester United.
The Portuguese star was with the Red Devils for six years before being sold to Real Madrid for a record €94m in June 2009.
Speaking to the Daily Mail during a promotional event at the Jarama race circuit outside the Spanish capital, Ronaldo could not hide his feelings for his former club, although he is not planning on leaving Madrid just yet.
“I love Manchester [United]. Everyone knows that. I have said it many times. Manchester is in my heart.
“I left many good friends there and the supporters are amazing. I wish I can come back one day.
“I’m happy at Real Madrid and have four more years, but in the future you never know because they treated me unbelievably there [in Manchester].
“I really did love being at Manchester United,” he declared.
