Navas disappointed with debut loss

Keylor Navas was frustrated to lose on his Real Madrid debut, as the European champions were dispatched 2-1 by Fiorentina.

The Costa Rica international made his first appearance for Los Blancos in the friendly in Warsaw yesterday evening.

And the shot-stopper admitted that it was disappointing not to come away from Poland with a win.

“Now we have to focus on the next game, there is an important trophy to be won and we will be battling with everything we’ve got to win it,” he told reporters.

“It was a shame that we couldn’t win tonight but I felt comfortable out there – the overall sensations were very positive.

“Getting that first contact with my team mates was important. We’ve got to keep working and improving every day.”

Navas commented on his relationship with the rest of the squad.

“I’m relaxed about that – I’ve no reason at all not get along with anyone here.

“I’ve come here to work hard with humility and push myself– just like I have done all through my life.

“I am at the coaching staff’s disposal, I will never give up and I will continue working as hard as I can every day.”
