Sevilla right-back Coke has turned down the chance to move to Marseille after the clubs agreed a fee for his transfer.
AS reports that Marseille met Sevilla’s €3.5m asking price and the 27-year-old was given permission to speak to the French club.
Marseille recently appointed former Athletic Bilbao Coach Marcelo Bielsa to the bench but Coke rejected the offer of a switch to Ligue 1.
His agent had suggested the move would go through but Coke would prefer to remain at Sevilla and a new contract is expected to be signed.
Bielsa had made Coke one of his main targets for the summer but the former Chile boss will now look elsewhere.
