James: Spain suits my style

James Rodriguez has revealed he believes Spanish football would fit in with his style of play more than the Premier League.

The Colombia international has been one of the stars of the World Cup with his performances seeing his name mentioned in connection with Real Madrid.

Colombia face hosts Brazil on Friday in the tournament’s quarter-finals, with James looking to add to his five goals in four games.

AS reports an interview with the Monaco forward published by the Guardian in which James touched on his impressions of the top flights of England and Spain.

“I’ve said in the past I’d like to play in Spain. It’s a League that has good technique and where you have a lot of contact with the ball. That’s my style,” he said.

“The Premier League is a bit physical at this stage. But I’m a Monaco player and I’m not thinking about anything else right now.

“I’m just concentrating on Brazil, which is going to be a wonderful experience for us.”

AS add meanwhile that Monaco have insisted James, who was signed a year ago for €45m, will not be allowed to leave the principality this summer.
