Martino: Barca can beat anyone

Tata Martino believes Barcelona’s win over Manchester City in the Champions League last 16 shows they can beat anyone.

Barca won 2-1 on the night and 4-1 on aggregate and the Coach told reporters following the final whistle that his side don’t need to fear any team remaining in the competition.

“After playing City and gone through 4-1 it shows we can do it against whoever we get,” Martino said.

“Against teams like City Barca or any other team can’t dominate the full 90 minutes. We have to learn to suffer.

“City can beat any of the teams who have gone through. We’re ready for whoever we get [in the next round].”

Martino was asked about the officiating after some controversial decisions across the two legs.

“In the first game it was said the referee favoured us but we had a goal ruled out,” Martino replied

“Neymar had a goal ruled out here. Referees make mistakes.”

“This has been a year of ups and downs, ups and downs in just the last few days,” Martino continued.

“There are always different reasons why the team’s level goes up and down and why we’re not right up there in La Liga.”
