Monaco are believed to have offered Atletico Madrid €17m for midfielder Arda Turan, according to television station Cuatro.
The French outfit maintains good relations with the Madrid club following the purchase of Radamel Falcao in the summer but Los Colchoneros have rejected the proposal, insisting any interested clubs must meet the player’s €24m release clause.
Even so, Turan is looking forward to playing for Diego Simeone’s men in the Champions League next season, something the newly-promoted principality club are unable to offer.
It is understood there has also been an offer for the player from Galatasaray in a bid to lure him back to his former team, which was again turned down by the Atleti hierarchy.
At the same time, AS reports that Monaco are understood to be interested in Atletico’s Brazilian international left-back Filipe Luis, although they are expected to receive the same answer they got when they asked about Turan
