Chelsea’s Terry ‘offered to Valencia’

John Terry is reportedly in negotiations with Valencia over a shock mid-season transfer out of Chelsea.

The former England international is reported as unhappy at Stamford Bridge after the fallout from the last year’s events.

Terry stood trial and then faced an FA charge for allegedly racially abusing Anton Ferdinand during a game in October 2011. Although cleared in the courts, the player was still hit with a four-game ban and £220,000 fine from the FA, as well as a ‘record’ internal fine from Chelsea.

Intereconomia report that the player is displeased with a perceived lack of support from the club during this affair and that with just another six months to go on his contract, a move out may now be in both parties’ interest.

Apparently, Chelsea have already offered the defender out, with Valencia showing interest and according to one FIFA agent, already in talks over a January purchase.

“Valencia are negotiating, and I am involved in person, with the signing in the winter transfer market,” Francois Gallardo told Intereconomia today.

“The offer is on his table. The player is out of contract in June and will not renew there for several reasons at Chelsea and he wants to come to Spain.

“Terry has problems. They are insulting him and he is not taking it anymore. He asked to leave, not us.

“It’s real. This has been going on for two weeks and two meetings have already taken place. The deal is already on his table – a year-and-a-half plus one. I think he will accept.”
