Valencia are closing in on the €25m capture of Benfica midfielder Enzo Perez, reports O Jogo.
The Argentina international has long been linked with Los Che following Peter Lim’s takeover, and a fee now appears to have been agreed between both clubs.
Reports in Spain also claim that Valencia successfully drove down Benfica’s initial demands of €30m.
Perez is expected to sign a four-and-a-half-year contract at Mestalla and will travel to Spain’s third largest city early next week to finalise the transfer.
The 28-year-old recently fuelled rumours of a move when he declared his ambition to represent the two-time Champions League finalists.
He told reporters: “Of course I’d love to play for Valencia. They are one of the best clubs in Europe.”
