Barcelona linked to €112m Inter striker Lautaro Martinez

Barcelona are tempted to make an extraordinary €112m attempt to sign Inter striker Lautaro Martinez, according to reports.

Our sister site Football Italia cites a report from Radio La Red which claims the Blaugrana have identified the striker as a long-term replacement for Luis Suarez.

The Argentina international has shone at this summer’s Copa America for his nation and brought his potential to a wider audience following his debut campaign with the Nerazzurri.

The Milanese giants only paid Racing Club €14m plus bonuses for the striker a year ago – after he had been heavily linked to both Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid.

Racing would be due 10 per cent of any future transfer, while it’s believed Lautaro does have a release clause worth €112m in his contract.

The striker scored nine goals and provided two assists in 35 competitive games for Inter, who are said to be keen to raise significant funds to sign Manchester United striker Romelu Lukaku.

Martinez’s club and international teammate Mauro Icardi has also been linked with a move away this summer.
