Diego Godin pens three-year Inter deal – report

Outgoing Atletico Madrid defender Diego Godin has agreed a three-year contract with Italian club Inter, according to ESPN FC.

The Uruguayan defender is out of contract this summer and confirmed his departure from the Spanish capital would come at the end of this season.

The fresh report claims the 33-year-old will put pen to paper in Milan on a deal worth an annual wage of €6.75m.

“Now I have more nerves than for any match,” Godin told his Atleti farewell press conference on Tuesday.

“These are my final days at Atletico, this has been more than a club for me, they have been a family, my home and a way of life.”

Cadena Ser have previously claimed the Uruguayan defender will join the Nerazzurri on a two-year deal with the option of a third, worth an annual wage of €5.5m.

Godin has spent nine years with Los Rojiblancos and made 381 first-team appearances.

Juanfran Torres, Filipe Luis and Godin are all out of contract at Los Rojiblancos, while fellow defender Lucas Hernandez has already joined Bayern Munich.
