Villarreal midfielder Pablo Fornals has rejected approaches from West Ham United and Fulham, say reports in the Spanish press.
The talented Spanish central midfielder does not want to ‘abandon his team in the situation in which it is currently’, according to a report in Cadena Ser.
The 22-year-old joined the Yellow Submarine from Malaga last summer and his performances helped lead the team to a top five finish last campaign.
However, this season has taken a turn for the worse at the club and they lie just one point above the drop zone in Spain after the opening 12 rounds of fixtures.
Fornals has a €30m release clause at the Madrigal with both London clubs willing to trigger this in January but the player himself has no intention of moving before the end of the campaign.
Villarreal are said to be hopeful of a new deal which will heighten the midfielder’s release clause.
