Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone has heaped praise on forward Antoine Griezmann despite his lack of goals so far this season.
The Frenchman has yet to find the net but the Argentine Coach praised his ‘decisive’ style of play and insisted he was vital for the team in attacking areas.
“He is improving game by game,” Simeone told reporters after the game.
“We put a lot of effort in against Eibar and that was difficult to have a good game due to the nature of the match.
“We deserved to win in that and had many chances and tonight, against Monaco, we came from behind and he appeared during the most crucial times.
“He is a player who can make a difference in key areas and is a determined player when he is near the box.
“When he combines with Diego Costa in key moments and other chances they are very decisive – it was a great game for Griezmann.”
